Things that could go wrong before making a candle!

If you are new to the world of candle making, especially if you are using soy wax or vegetable wax, there are a few things that you should always keep in mind before taking your hands on it as these small things would make your candle making process easy and safe.

We have gathered 4 perils, budding candle makers should avoid to have the best possible candle making experience:

1. You may burn your hands if you remove the jar with bare hands.

HOW TO FIX IT-

Please use the muslin cloth for picking up the jar or if you have mittens or tongs with you! 

2. Your candle may sink from the center (after cooling off).

HOW TO FIX IT-

This usually happens if the wax is very hot. So keep the temperature between 45 - 60 degree Celsius. if it still happens, pour some warm wax on top of it to make it even!

3. Your wick may move from the center once you pour the liquid wax.

Candle wicks are soft and they tend to move when you pour the liquid wax in the jar.

HOW TO FIX IT-

The metal wire support will ensure that even if it leaves the base, it will stay in the center.

4. Your candle may not smell as strong / mild as you would like it to!

For rejuvenating the candle’s fragrance as per your choice, adding the essential oils in the right quantity will lead you close to perfection

HOW TO FIX IT-

So a thumb rule with essential oils (for 1 jar)

• For mild fragrance add ‘5 - 8 drops’
• For strong fragrance add ‘8 - 12 drops’
• For very strong fragrance add ‘12 -18 drops’
